Springing into Fashion

March 25, 2010

Spring time is when we all start to put away our winter/fall wardrobe; boots, coats, jackets and sweaters to bear our skin wearing some of the most recent spring fashion from our favorite stores, ready to wear collections from our favorite designers.

Charlotte Russe never disappoints in that affect.  In fact, this year the styles are simple, colorful, bright, soft — while possessing a sassy but comfortable look whether your out on the town, lounging with friends, or just out enjoying a warm spring day.

I particularly adore her spring casual dresses because you can dress them up to be worn as a dress or with a cute pair of leggings.  Leggings are definitely in this spring time season, and you can expect to see more of them being a decorative asset to an outfit.  Strapless dresses are definitely winning the popularity contest along side the halter dresses, as well.  Prints and patterns are ideal in soft pastel colors and in combinations of cotton and/or rayon blends for ease of wear and comfort.

Cocktail dresses are even more simplified this year for the woman who wants to keep things simple and less complicated in evening wear, but enjoy a relaxing time while looking and feeling good at the same time.

Go for this Satin Slash with a luxe look featuring satin fabric, V neck, pleated slash details, wide straps, elastic smocking through the back, box pleat details through the skirt, and an interior lining.  It has a shoulder-to-bottom hem length of 34″.  Machine washable.   I recommend matching this hot little number with a sassy pair of sling back heels — nothing too dressy, busy or bulky, but elegant and appealing, something that will add just the right touch — black preferably.

At Charlotte Russe you can always find great prices and online ordering is easy.  But if you want to get a good hands on experience and a real feel for the spring wear I recommend going to the store.  Trying on selections for fit and comfort, mixing and matching is just an overall fulfillment.

Of all the spring collection this year at Charlotte Russe, this is my favorite.   The floral design at the skirt makes this dress pretty that can be worn with a nice black or white sandal or a two-tone sandal with a heel not too high, perhaps a 3 1/2 heel.

I love the straight neckline in contrast to the trim.  It is a solid cotton fabric and a back tie detail with a back zipper closure.  Very, very nice.

This year is all about prints and patterns for me because the possibilities are just endless.  And regardless the fabric, spring and summer dresses will definitely be a highlight of the seasons. I’d like to see more chiffon fabric dresses with the free flowing look for the spring/summer wear to come along with floral designs — baby dolls, to be precise, I can really get into that.
