Back in the Fashion Groove, It’s a Wrap!

May 25, 2010

I’m back on the blog!  Took some time off to get some rest, celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and deal with my daughter’s teenage issues.  But while I’ve been on a short hiatus, I scouted around looking for ideal wrap dresses because of the beautiful olive green Jones New York lined wrap dress I have.  Wrap dresses make a beautiful fashion statement and come in select styles and do not discriminate against seasons of wear.

First up, I took a few clicks over to Overstock.com and laid my eyes on this gorgeous poppy colored wrap dress from Calvin Klein with stretchy, lightweight fabric, flowy flutter sleeves and a self belt to complete the look.  This image from Overstock.com.

Next up, I clicked over to Jones New York, and I don’t care what’s the season, they never disappoint.  Like this beautiful blurred leaf wrap dress with a flair.  It’s fun and flirty.  JNY describes it with ink colored, abstract florals that blur down into the hemline, swiped across white cotton canvas.  Just delicious.

Also at JNY, check out this sexy blue wrap dress with the black trim.  Ordinarily for me, it’s hard to find just the right kind of two-toned dress especially one that is a wrap dress.

Look at the way the black trim forms a cascade from the waist line, down the side, and around the hemline.  The matte jersey wrap dress flatters your figure and can be worn for any occasion, including at the office.  If you like this dress, note that it is available for pre-order and ships no later than June 3, 2010 from JNY.

Finally, and also from JNY comes this hot number I happen to just love.  One, because of its color, two, because of the fit and three, because of the fabric.  It’s called a Starburst Satin Wrap Dress.  I love how the design starts up from the shoulder straps and works it way down to the embellished ornament the dress comes with.  It also comes in dark blue.  This dress is for formal wear.  It has a surplice seam detail.  The front skirt pintucks, has a center back pleat and slit , and has a back zip.  The dress is lined and is a blend of acetate, rayon and spandex.  For the money, this is one dress I would certainly add to my collection.

If your pocketbook can’t meet the price of the wrap dresses at JNY or Overstock.com, shop around.  There are many retailers that are stocking these gems that are sure to please regardless the occasion, during the summer months and into the fall/winter seasons.
