Bracing for the Winter

September 13, 2010

We have reached the last week of summer, or so weather forecasters are stating.  And as sporadic the summer has been with there being more cooler and milder temperature days than we had in heat waves in the city of Los Angeles, preparing for the winter months ahead almost seems like a given.  And how we are preparing for the winter ahead can make a significant difference.

If you haven’t already noticed retailers have taken every precaution to get their winter gear on the racks long before the month of August had a chance to exit properly.  This year you’ll see a larger selection in jackets, sweaters, coats, head gear, leg warmers (which are making a huge comeback) and other winter gear to get you and your family prepared.

Stores and online retailers such as Ross Stores, Chadwicks.com, Metrostyle.com, Macy’s, Sears, Newport News, and Victoria’s Secret have already started introducing their fall/winter lineup for the season.  Amiclubwear.com has also stepped up to the plate to add new selections in their boot collection to welcome the fall/autumn and winter months with great discounts you just can’t refuse.

In my quest for the hottest styles in winter wear, first on my list was to check out the boot selection online and in stores.  There’s a lot to choose from and at fabulous prices that it almost seemed like a sin to purchase them at low prices.  So this past week I stopped in at Ross Stores to check out what they had to offer and picked up a pair of these nice and stylish pair of boots.  I usually don’t go for the pleather look, but close up they really appealed to my sense of style, taste and comfort once I tried them.

I got them at a steal of a price of $22.99, and they compliment my work, casual and play wear.  You can also find these gems Amiclubwear.com for $25.99 plust tax and shipping less any available discounts.

These boots come equipped with a side buckle for decoration purposes, shiny faux leather, side zipper, 4 inch heels, flat sole, and 14 1/2 inch shaft from top heel to cuff.

Depending on how you wear boots, they are ideal for dressing up a pair of jeans, a skirt and sweater combination, or a pair of capri pants to give a nice classy look whether in the office our just out around town, in travelling..

If you’re in the market for stylish sweaters, I’m sorry, but Victoria’s Secret would be my first stopping place for online sweater shopping.  Every year they have a dynamite selection that is breath taking.  You get sexy, but stylish sweaters to compliment almost any wardrobe.  They are somewhat pricey, but still, you get great sweaters.  For instance,  I got my daughter and I this delightfully warm turtleneck sweater in ivory a couple of years ago, and to date, they still look fabulous.  You can find this one on their web site.

Prior to that I got this beautiful pastel pink turtleneck sweater for my daughter’s birthday about three years ago and is still looking new and will welcome in another winter season ahead.  Unfortunately VS didn’t bring this sweater back this year.  Sweater Photos from Victoria’s Secret.

Want to upgrade your outerwear? Need a new jacket or coat, let me direct your attention to Chadwicks.com.  This is one of my favorite coats.  The Ladylike Pleated Coat offers built-in waistband for a more flattering shape, pleated from shoulder to waist and along the center back, button front, on-seam pockets, and is fully lined.  It can be a classy and stylish addition to your winter as well as a sexy way to keep warm during the cold spikes.

To sum it up, whatever you’re looking for this winter, you can still be stylish while keeping warm.  Keep coming back as I’ll be spotlighting other ideal winter gear for the cold season ahead.
