Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011

January 25, 2011

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011 gets underway.  Their fall schedule in February begins in New York who will be playing host to the NYFall2011 event showcasing new fashion trends of the fall season, headlining our expectations of the Spring season collection to follow.

Some of this year’s designers includes DKNY, Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Bill Blass, L.A.M.B., Luca Luca, Jill Stuart, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, and many, many more.

I’ll be keeping my eyes open for The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection, which is a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.  Many women suffer from this debilitating disease that not enough awareness is being raised in what we as women can do to get diagnosed early, seek necessary treatment, and what we can do to ultimately prevent it.

This was a clever collaboration of efforts created between both the federal government and the fashion industry to take the message of heart disease above and beyond.

Also in February we’ll be taking a look at BCBGMAXAZRIA, originally founded in 1989 by Designer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Max Azria.  His wife later joined the team in 1991 as their Creative Director.

“Azria broke new ground when he launched BCBGMAXAZRIA, redefining the designer category by offering innovative, high-quality clothing at contemporary price points. With the overwhelming success of his women’s ready-to-wear line, Azria ultimately evolved BCBGMAXAZRIA into a complete lifestyle brand for women, with evening dresses, swimwear, footwear, handbags, small leather goods, eyewear, watches and more.” From Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  His fashion line is loved around the world and can be found in many fashion boutiques.

Be sure to check out Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for their up-to-the minute schedule on their fashion week and a detailed list of the designers who are expected to be featured.
