And the Ruffles Keep Coming

December 6, 2011

This Tipped Ruffled Shirt is one top I’ve been wanting since last year and I’m surprise Metrostyle brought it back this year.  I’d received the catalog today, but it wasn’t in the catalog, so I decided to go online to the website, and wouldn’t you know it, there it was.  I hadn’t visited the website since last month, so it was a good thing I did today otherwise I would have missed out again, and they only had my size left.  However, I placed the order, only to find out that it’s not in stock and my order had gotten cancelled.  And I really wanted it, too.

So, why was I in hot pursuit of this ruffled beauty? I really love ruffles especially when they are well placed and the design is well formed.  Had I gotten it, I could have worn it with a semi short skirt, white pants, black pants, the number of looks I can create with this are a little flexible, but enough to suit my taste.

It has a hidden zipper, the fabric is lightweight, perfect for the summer, and ideal for evening outings to the nightclub or to a nice dinner.  This would be perfect to wear to the holiday party I’m going to the week after next.  I was thinking with a nice shear lined black pants and my black glitter peep toe pumps.  Or a sexy pair of silver high heel sandals.  But it got away from me again.

But not to worry, though.  Metrostyle also has this one.  When I found out my order for the other was cancelled, I am still getting this one.

This is one I wanted, too, but last year it was another one of those situations where it was one of their popular items and I missed it.  Not this time.  They have this in three colors, but I seem to like the white one better.  It’s versatile and can be worn for different occasions.  Don’t get me wrong, I like different colors, but it’s just that some tops and blouses just don’t seem to look right in bright or dark colors.  And these two tops are evident of that very fact.  Then again, the solid black on this blouse does look good perhaps with white dress pants.  Just a thought.

For the best fit I had to measure myself to make sure I didn’t order a size too big.  I’m back to losing weight so I didn’t want to mess around and order a large.  I did that with one I ordered from New York & Company.  It was too big, but they didn’t have any more in stock to exchange so I did the next best thing.  Altered it in the right sections of the top so that it would fit in all the right places.

They are good prices and I’d recommend ordering them, especially for wearing to a holiday event.  You simply can’t go wrong with something like these, that’s if you’re quite the girly girl.  But don’t count on ordering the Tipped Ruffled Shirt from Metrostyle.   You’re not going to get it and I’m having the darndest time finding one.  Their site is under some type of system maintenance just like it was before.  The site may not be accurate in what they have in stock online, so if you order online, be sure to call and check to see if a particular item is actually in stock.  One other thing, you can’t track your online.  Until you receive a shipping confirmation, you will have to call them to track it.  Just so you know.

Hi Rene, this is a great post. Love ruffles! And they seem to be making a comeback don’t they!

    Thanks for sharing!

Hey, so glad you like the post. I grew up during an era where I saw a lot of the fashion, and grew to love the era where ruffles reigned supreme. I don’t think we will ever see the end of ruffles in this day in age. In fact, I think we will actually see a huge boom as the fashion industry continues to flourish.

Oh no problem at all! You are so correct, ruffles aren’t going anywhere but up.

        Thanks again, Rene’!
