Getting Ready for Mother’s Day Out

May 8, 2012

If you live in Los Angeles, Mother’s Day is like a celebrated holiday that starts almost two weeks in advance in the neighborhood I live in.  As the day gets closer more and more vendors storm the street and line the sidewalks with all sorts of gifts to give to the special mother in your life.

I recently did a post on my Mother’s Day pick to wear and decided to  go a totally different route with the shoes.  I don’t have a whole lot of flat shoes, and since I want to go to El Cholos for their crab enchiladas and margaritas, and enjoy a nice walk over to the famed restaurant (because I literally live three blocks away from it), I would wear these cut flowered sandals I picked up from Claire’s.  Usually the only thing you’ll see me buying out of that store is scarves for my daughter and I, a clutch purse and maybe a hat or two.  But this spring/summer season I have been in the store more times that I’ve lost count.  They have really stepped up their game in offering really trendy and stylish sandals that even I can enjoy.

I have not worn high strapped with a zipper in the back flat sandals before, so this is going to something new for me.  And because I always look for comfort in every shoes I wear, this is  bound to be an interesting journey for me.

By the way, Claire’s is having a huge sale on their flip flops and sandals…buy one and get a second pair 50% off.   These sandals and the ones I bought my daughter were $22 each.
