Fashion: Trending the MSK Limited Pleated Blouson Hardware Maxi Dress

August 27, 2015

We all love a good maxi dress, and with the summer season soon to be coming to a close, let’s add one more to the equation.  Today’s maxi dresses are styled for lounging and social gatherings to more upscale and elegant events.

20150825_212003Recently I received a gift card to Macy’s for my birthday, which was last week.  It wasn’t until just a few days ago I decide to track off to Macy’s in Santa Ana where I stumbled across this very attractive maxi dress by MSK.  It’s been in the last couple of years that I’ve really taken a liking to pleated styles.  They are sexy, stylish, and are made for just about any occasions.

I fell in love the minute I saw it.  Dubbed the MSK Limited Pleated Blouson Hardware Maxi Dress, it spelled elegant all over it.  Hardware because of the neckline and closure.  I couldn’t find it online to get a better picture of it, but was not able to, so this is what you get, and it was the only one left.

There were others in solid print, but there was something to say about this particular one.  Best thing about it — it was a size 12 which was just perfect.  I started to walk away from it but the better part of me would not let me do such a thing.

The length, the halter look, the back clasp closure, and open back makes it more of an event type dress, especially if you pair it with the right shoes.

And the gold elastic neck closure is really what sold me on the dress, too.  It’s absolutely the perfect length.  Here is a closer look at the top of the dress to get a good for what it looks like.

I have other maxi dresses, but adding this one to my collection just adds an array of sunshine.  The color scheme in the pleats, the halter, the overall look.  Simply breathtaking and a step up from gorgeous.  I later learned after I’d gotten home that the dress had been recently returned.  It was a good thing I decided to go to Macy’s that day, otherwise I wasn’t going.  But something kept sending me that way.

Ok, I guess you’re wondering what shoes will I wear with this gorgeous piece?  Glad you asked.  So I immediately went on the hunt for the perfect shoes, because when I decide I want to make a huge fashion statement, I make a huge one.

I like some of Paprika’s shoes, so I decided what they had in orange.  I chose to get away from wearing white shoes because I wanted to bring up the look and colors of the dress.  Honestly it took me a few hours to decide on something and I believe I mad the right choice.

z_21428_1_0Because the dress is long and I’m short, I did not want to make any alterations to the dress, thus taking away from the allure of it’s overall look.

I picked these because not only do they go with the dress perfectly, but they match the neckline of it as well.  Bringing it all together.

Platform T-Strap high heel sandal with a zipper back closure and gold tone decor adds spice and flare to this look, just the way I like it.  Equipped with a half in platform and 5 inch heel is just what this dress needs to give me height and sex appeal.

It’s been a while since I purchased T-strap heels, so this is very fitting.

There is something to be said about a sexy pair of shoes — makes the entire ensemble pop with glamour.  Accessories?  I tried the dress on and decided I am not going to bulk it up with gaudy accessories.  No need to.  A nice hair style or up do, sassy makeup — all you need to be the one everybody will be looking at.  I’m either going to wear this to an event as we close out the year, or I’m going to save it for after I get married, or wear it to my 30 year high school reunion.  Whichever comes first.

I found these on Amazon a little over $30 and with free shipping, and in my size.   This is a new style for me, so I’m excited to see how they’ll look when I try them on with the dress.

When I decide to put an ensemble together.  I take my time looking for the right pieces to bring it altogether.  It what makes it stand out nicely.
